Becky Baihui Chen

Cinematographer

Becky Baihui Chen is a Chinese cinematographer based in Shanghai. At the age of 15, she went to the United States alone to pursue her education, an experience that shaped her global perspective. Driven by an adventurous spirit and a love of unique stories, she has worked on projects around the world, including Australia, China, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, and the United States.

Chen’s fiction work spans a wide range of genres, from political drama and steampunk fantasy to coming-of-age stories. Notable projects include Tian Tian De Mi Mi /Our Secrets (short, Cannes 2026), Scorching (short, Berlinale 2026), and I’m FINE, Thanks for Asking (feature, SXSW 2021).

In addition to her narrative work, Chen has shot over a hundred commercials for international brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Chanel, Adidas, and La Mer, as well as music videos for Constance and Shan Yichun, and documentaries throughout Europe and China.
